JBC Technologies Inc. continues to grow by acquisition, buying its second converter in less than five months.
JBC, a flexible materials converter in North Ridgeville, Ohio, announced April 1 it bought HST Materials Inc., a fabricator and converter of plastics, rubber and tape. HST operates a 10,500-square-foot plant in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
HST expands JBC's geographic reach and adds to its presence in the automotive and off-road transportation markets. HST extrudes, molds and die-cuts gaskets and seals for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
In addition to supplementing JBC's die-less cutting, platen press die-cutting and precision slitting abilities, HST adds to JBC's converting and inspection capabilities by bringing peel adhesion testing and spooling to the deal. HST also does contract manufacturing and serves the marine, gaming, lighting, electrical enclosures, telecommunications and consumer appliances markets.
In December, JBC acquired Die Cut Technologies of Northglenn, Colo., boosting JBC's presence in the electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical markets. In November, JBC announced it had nearly doubled the size of its presence in Wisconsin by relocating from Madison to nearby Fitchburg.
