KRA Operations LLC, a subsidiary of South Korea-based Kirin Precision Co. Ltd., has picked Prosperity, S.C., for its first operations site in the United States.
The Samsung supplier's $11.5 million investment is expected to create 57 new jobs, according to an Aug. 18 news release by the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
The new 110,000-square-foot metal stamping and injection molding facility is fully operational, the release said, and serves KRA's existing customers in the state.
"From the beginning of construction to starting our operations, we have experienced first-class customer service, a reliable and skilled workforce and a business-friendly environment," Wonyoung "William" Chang, president of KRA Operations said in the release. "We are very excited to have joined the business community of South Carolina and Newberry County and look forward to being contributing members of our community for years to come."
KRA did not immediately respond to inquiry for comment by Plastics News.
