Fortis Solutions Group LLC is acquiring Profecta Labels Inc., the second purchase in less than a month.
Profecta, based in St-Hubert, Quebec, "is a Canadian flexographic and digital manufacturer of labels and flexible packaging printing," Fortis said. The company serves the industrial, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food and beverage markets.
Products include pressure sensitive and shrink sleeve labels, multi-ply coupon and flexible packaging printing, extended booklet printing, pouches, folding cartons and label applicators and variable data printing, the company said.
Fortis is based in Virginia Beach, Va., and is owned by private equity firm Harvest Partners LP of New York. The company has 17 locations and more than 1,100 employees.
Fortis, itself, was acquired by Harvest Partners from Main Post Partners LP in October. At that time, the company signaled it would continue its history of acquisition under new ownership.
Fortis, in October, indicated it had made 13 acquisitions just since 2014 and "is actively seeking both tuck-in and transformational acquisitions in the pressure sensitive labels, shrink sleeve, and flexible packaging markets."
Fortis followed its own ownership change with the purchase of Label Tech Inc. of Somersworth, N.H., in early April. Label Tech makes pressure sensitive and non-pressure sensitive labels and flexible packaging for the consumer product, food and beverage and health and beauty segments.
