LG Chem Ltd. and Lavergne Groupe have established a partnership focused on recycling post-consumer engineering resins.
With this new agreement, Montreal-based Lavergne will provide manufacturing services in North America to Seoul-based LG Chem.
This partnership will support the two companies to advance a circular economy. The agreement will focus on driving manufacturing, logistics efficiency and technological advancements.
"Partnering with Lavergne confirms our commitment to provide our North American customers with quality solutions, robust supply chain and rapid response," said Steven Kim, senior vice president and head of engineering materials business unit at LG Chem, in a news release.
Lavergne has been navigating LG Chem's qualification process for the past year to provide a more high-quality engineering plastic to meet the company's standards.
LG Chem now will have the opportunity to increase its presence in North America through synergies with Lavergne. The company will benefit from being able to improve the supply chain for post-consumer engineering plastics.
"We are excited to join forces with LG Chem in this strategic partnership, which will accelerate our global growth and meet the market's evolving needs." said Jean Luc Lavergne, president of Lavergne, in a news release.
