Swiss process technology systems supplier Maag Group has bolstered its digital operations by acquiring XanTec Steuerungs-und EDV Technik GmbH, a move that allows it to hit two goals at once.
"This acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy to strengthen our digital capabilities," said Maag President Ueli Thuerig in a news release, adding that it also aligns with Maag's goal of continuing to expand its portfolio with industry-leading systems and solutions.
Headquartered in Kevelaer-Kervenheim, Germany, XanTec plans, designs and manufactures advanced industrial control systems that are employed in production plants, pelletizing systems and extruders, improving process control and machine intelligence to reduce cost and improve quality. A key specialty of the company are systems for the chemical industry, including the plastics and rubber industry.
XanTec has extensive experience with automation systems for tank and silo plants, conveying systems, dosing equipment, extrusion engineering, filtration engineering, pumping technology, pelletizing systems, packaging equipment and loading technology.

Maag is based in Zurich and is owned by Downers Grove, Ill.-based Dover Corp.
