Downers Grove, Ill.-based industrial manufacturer Dover Corp. has acquired some assets from the petrochemical division of Fridely, Minn.-based Carter Day International Inc. to expand its Maag Group business unit with dewatering and drying equipment for the plastics industry.
The acquired products and proprietary technologies also bring complementary high-volume dryer technology to Maag's pelletizing-system portfolio, which is reported within Dover's pumps and process solutions segment.
Terms of the deal for the acquired manufacturing technology weren't disclosed.
Ueli Thuerig, president of the Switzerland-based Maag Group, said the transaction is consistent with its strategy.
"This acquisition represents an important step forward and aligns with our commitment of providing our customers with the most effective and efficient solutions to meet their ever-growing needs," Thuerig said in a news release.
Thuerig made similar comments about the May 2022 acquisition of AMN DPI, a French manufacturer of polymer pelletizing dies and die plates.
Maag Group employs about 1,100 people at production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the United States and China.
Group owner Dover posts annual sales of more than $7 billion for products in all its business units for equipment and components, supplies, aftermarket parts, software and digital solutions and support services.
In addition to pumps and process solutions, Dover operates in segments for engineered products, clean energy and fueling, imaging and identification, and climate and sustainability technologies.
Carter Day operates in three business divisions with the petrochemical unit made up of drying systems and industrial cleaning and separating equipment for the plastics industry.
