The Addipel business unit of Maroon Group LLC has relocated to a new site in Elyria, Ohio.
Addipel, a custom materials blender, had been based in nearby Avon Lake. The business now is in a new 40,000-square-foot warehouse and production site in Elyria, officials with Avon Lake-based Maroon said in a Dec. 6 news release.
The new site includes in-house ribbon blenders, high speed mixers, compaction mills and custom packaging services. Addipel offers a wide range of materials that can be formulated and processed including UV absorbers, antioxidants, slip aids, lubricants, mineral fillers, flame retardants, anti-blocks, anti-static agents, clarifiers, nucleating agents, heat stabilizers and plastic resins.
Addipel General Manager Jake Reichard said in the release that the move immediately helps with warehousing and production space, but also gives the business room to add additional capacity "for years to come."
"We have made significant investments to expand capacity via new production equipment and building up our operations team to deliver the value of Addipel that our customers have come to expect," he said.
Maroon is a distributor of specialty chemicals, including many plastics additives. The firm has made 10 acquisitions since New York-based private equity firm CI Capital LLC acquired Maroon in mid-2014.
Addipel was the first of those 10 to be acquired, with that deal coming in late 2014, just a few months after CI bought Maroon.
