Pittsfield, Mass. — Mold maker Starbase Technologies Inc. of Pittsfield is closing, according to a local news report.
The Berkshire Eagle reported Nov. 15 that the company is going out of business, though it was unclear exactly when the doors would close.
The company, which employs about 24, has been in business more than 30 years. Starbase makes custom-designed and high-cavitation injection molds for closures, lids and seals for the cosmetics industry; deep-draw precision housing molds for the consumer and medical markets; and large molds for industrial, military and aerospace uses, according to its website.
It produces mold bases; compression, stack and injection blow molds and die sets; and runnerless systems. Among other services, Starbase refurbishes tools and does in-house tool qualification.
