Germantown,Wis.-based MGS Mfg. Group Inc. has acquired Denmark-based tooling manufacturer Winther Mould Technology A/S.
"The acquisition of Winther Mould Technology further increases our tooling capacity for our pharma, diagnostics and medtech customers, overcoming risk of bottlenecks in developing and launching new programs," Dirk Paulmann, VP of global marketing at MGS, told Plastics News.
The acquisition includes Winther Mould's 43,000-square-foot production floor and a 32,300-square-foot test and validation center. Terms were not disclosed.
Paulmann said the deal adds to MGS' capacity for sampling, process development and short-term production runs, which help accelerate its customers' speed to market.
This deal follows MGS' acquisition of Denmark-based product development and design firm Technolution A/S in June.
Lynge, Denmark-based Winther Mould is a mold technology manufacturer with 56 years of tooling experience, design for manufacturing, component design, mold making, testing and validation.
"We are excited to grow with an end-to-end global solutions provider to offer customers a comprehensive solution from initial concept to high-volume manufacturing and commercialization," Kenneth Winther, general manager of Winther Mould, said in a news release.
Including Winther Mould, MGS has 1,200 employees across 12 global locations in the United States, Mexico, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and Germany. It offers product design and development, tooling, manufacturing and automation in the pharma, diagnostics and medtech markets.
MGS, owned by private equity firm Mason Wells Inc. of Milwaukee since 2016, also recently broke ground on a 120,000-square-foot innovation center in Germantown and noted that the company is expanding in Ireland and planning for a new plant in Costa Rica.
