PolyOne Corp. has appointed Woon Keat Moh as president of its Color, Additives and Inks unit effective Jan. 1.
Moh has been with Avon Lake, Ohio-based PolyOne, a leading North American compounder and resin distributor, since 2010, most recently serving as vice president for Asia. He has previous industry experience with Clariant and Bayer.
"I'm extremely proud to lead our innovative, global team of associates in the dynamic and diverse markets we serve with our colors, additives and inks," Moh said in a Nov. 7 news release. "I look forward to helping our customers overcome their business challenges with our growing sustainable solutions portfolio and world-class service."
In the release, Chairman, President and CEO Robert Patterson described Moh as "a global leader, natural collaborator and results-driven professional, who has always lived our core values and our commitment to serving customers."
Patterson added that Moh's insights and expertise "have been invaluable as a member of PolyOne's leadership team, and I'm thrilled he'll now be contributing on an even deeper level."
Moh will succeed Mark Crist, who is retiring after a career of more than 30 years in the specialty materials industry. Crist will stay on for a period of time to ensure a seamless transition with Moh, officials said.
Crist joined PolyOne in 2008 and has led the colors unit since 2017. He previously led the firm's distribution unit.
"Mark's exceptional career is one of tremendous success and respect, as he served in leadership roles in three of PolyOne's segments during our specialty transformation," Patterson said in the release.
PolyOne's color, additives and inks unit posted sales of $1.05 billion in 2018, generating just over 28 percent of the firm's total sales before eliminations. The business operated 43 production sites worldwide. Based on sales, the unit ranked second among PolyOne's four operating units last year.
