Tempe, Ariz.-based. medical injection molder Molded Devices Inc. has acquired Jaffrey, N.H.-based tubing extruder Medefab, effective Jan. 10.
"Tom Star, president of MDI Medical, indicated that the acquisition of Medefab gives MDI a growing footprint in the Northeast to better serve MDI's many medical customers," MDI told Plastics News in an emailed statement.
Tom Coneys, former owner and president of Medefab, agreed to stay on at MDI/Medefab, and will work in sales and application engineering, MDI said in the statement.
Coneys did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Medefab's plant in southern New Hampshire will continue to operate, the statement said.
MDI would not disclose the cost of the acquisition.
"We are extremely happy for Tom and the Medefab team. We truly believe they found the perfect partner to take the company into the future," said Joe Contaldo, partner at investment banking firm XLCS Partners, which advised the acquisition, said in a March 16 news release.
