MTD Micro Molding, PolySource named top workplaces for 2023

Clearwater Beach, Fla. — MTD Micro Molding and PolySource have been named the best places to work in plastics for 2023.

The full list was announced Feb. 28 at the Plastics News Executive Forum in Clearwater Beach. This marks the 10th year for the Best Places to Work awards.

MTD Micro Molding topped the list of processors this year. The precision micromolder in Charlton, Mass., has been on the PN list every year since 2018.

PolySource, an engineering resins distributor in Overland Park, Kan., topped the list of suppliers. This marks the fourth time that PolySource has finished No. 1 in the ranking. It previously won in 2017, 2019 and 2021.

Profiles of all Best Places companies will be published in PN's April 17 issue.

In the processors category, the top places to work for 2023 are:

1. MTD Micro Molding, a precision micromolder in Charlton, Mass.

2. Redline Plastics, a rotational molder and vacuum former in Manitowoc, Wis.

3. Core Technology Molding Corp., an injection molder in Greensboro, N.C.

4. Advanced Pedestals, a custom rotational and injection molder in Gainesville, Texas.

5. KI Industries, a supplier of decorative appliance and automotive parts in Berkeley, Ill.

6. Currier Plastics Inc., a custom injection molder and blow molder in Auburn, N.Y.

7. Team 1 Plastics, an injection molder for the transportation industry in Albion, Mich.

8. DazPak Flexible Packaging, a flexible packaging company based in Gardena, Calif.

9. Dymotek Corp., a plastic and liquid silicone rubber molder in Ellington, Conn.

In the suppliers category, the best places to work in 2023 are:

1. PolySource, an engineering resins distributor in Overland Park, Kan.

2. Progressive Components, a global supplier to the tooling and molding industry in Wauconda, Ill.

3. Conventus Polymers LLC, a resin distributor in Parsippany, N.J.

4. ALPS Inspection, a maker of inline leak testing equipment in Harrison, Ohio.

5. US Extruders Inc., a manufacturer of single-screw extruders in Westerly, R.I.

6. M. Holland Co., a resin distributor in Northbrook, Ill.

7. RJG Inc., a training, technology and consulting firm in Traverse City, Mich.

8. Asahi Kasei Asaclean Americas, a purging compound supplier in Parsippany, N.J.

9. Westminster Tool Inc., a mold maker in Plainfield, Conn.

10. PureCycle Technologies Inc., a polypropylene recycler in Orlando, Fla.

11. Colors for Plastics Inc., a plastics compounder in Elk Grove Village, Ill.

12. Colortech Inc., a color and additive concentrates maker in Morristown, Tenn.

13. ePlastics, a sheet distributor and fabricator in San Diego.

For a company to be considered eligible, it must have a facility in the United States or Canada with a minimum of 15 employees, be in business for at least one year and derive at least 50 percent of revenue from plastics-related operations.

To ensure credibility, companies with 15-24 employees must have a response rate of at least 80 percent on the employee survey. Company workplace policies and practices, as well as an internal employee engagement and satisfaction survey, are taken into consideration for the process.
