Muller Technology Colorado Inc. (formerly CBW Automation), a supplier of robots and automation for injection molded thin-wall packaging, has launched the M-Line robot, a new integrated robotic and automation system the company says delivers greater flexibility and versatility.
The M-Line accommodates multiple mold types and pitches and from single-cavity up to 48-cavity molds. The company says it is more versatile than current automation systems that are restricted to certain molds and specified cavitation. Processors are adapting to shorter-term business contracts, so the flexible M-Line enables them to change production to meet market fluctuations and changing production volumes.
The low-cost end-of-arm tooling can be changed out quickly. The automation system is built on one frame and designed for a small footprint, with no assembly required.
The M-Line consists of three models for various injection press sizes. It was developed jointly by Muller Technology Colorado in Fort Collins, Colo., and its sister company, Swiss-based Muller Technology Conthey SA. The global platform will be manufactured in Switzerland and Colorado.
The company has already sold seven M-Lines in North America.
