Westlake, Ohio — Nordson Corp. has named a new top executive, announcing that Sundaram Nagarajan will become president and CEO effective Aug. 1.
Nagarajan succeeds Michael Hilton, who announced his retirement in February.
Nordson makes dispensing equipment for consumer and industrial adhesives, sealants and coatings. The company also has built a plastics segment, including Xaloy screws and barrels, EDI flat dies and BKG pelletizers and melt delivery systems.
Hilton joined the Westlake-based Nordson in 2010. Nagarajan joins Nordson following a long career at Illinois Tool Works Inc., where he is currently vice president of the Automotive OEM Segment, a $3.3 billion business.
After Nagarajan's start date, Hilton will become senior adviser and remain on the board of directors until he retires on Dec. 31.
Nagarajan holds a bachelor's degree from South Gujarat University, an MBA from Wright State University, and master's and doctorate degrees in materials science from Auburn University. He serves on the board of directors of Sonoco Products Co.
