Saco AEI Polymers has expanded its distribution lineup with additives for sustainable uses and for the nylon market.
The nylon additive is a rheology modifier made by Chinese supplier Zhejiang Java Specialty Chemicals Co. Ltd., which does business as Javachem. The material offers better processing fluidity and improved glass fiber dispersion, officials with Sheboygan, Wis.-based Saco AEI said.
Chinese producer Fine-Blend Polymer (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. makes the other two new materials. The first is a recycled plastic additive sold under the Eco-batch trade name. The material can be used to improve the performance of recycled grades of PET, nylon, polypropylene, polystyrene and other materials.
The second new material is Bio-master-brand biodegradable additives. Officials said the Bio-master line can improve the performance of several bioplastics, including polylactic acid and polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT).
In addition to distribution, Saco AEI offers custom compounding and tolling. The firm also makes sheet products and composite substrates.
