Two executives with resin distributor PolySource have purchased the firm from Greg Jacobson, who founded the Independence, Mo.-based company in 2000.
The transaction was effective Aug. 30, officials said in a Dec. 2 news release. PolySource now is owned by President Grant John and Vice President Damien Couch. No purchase price was disclosed.
Jacobson "established a foresight for flawless service to the customer that could only be authenticated by the culture of the company," officials said in the release. They added that John and Couch "were groomed as future leaders" of the company early in their careers. John and Couch have 32 years of combined experience.
"I'm eager to advance the tradition of success," John said in the release. "The shared professional vision with (Couch) will be focused on the value PolySource delivers to customers as problem solvers stemmed from a technically capable sales team."
Couch added that PolySource "is well-positioned for continued success and, along with the dedication of our effective team, John and I are committed to building onto the existing groundwork."
PolySource was named as the winner of Plastics News Best Places to Work competition in 2017 and 2019. The firm also has made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies five times.
PolySource distributes a wide range of engineered resins for plastic processors serving multiple market segments. Officials said the firm also provides customers with application development methods solving material challenges through years of plastics technology experience.
