Las Vegas — Atlanta-based Oldcastle APG put a spotlight on a recently launched brand called Catalyst Fence Solutions as it acquired extrusion operations in Calverton, N.Y., and Salisbury, N.C., from Eastern Wholesale Fence LLC.
Catalyst Fence Solutions brings together several brands that Oldcastle targeted for the ease and speed of installation, quality of the product and long-term performance, according to Dave Jackson, Oldcastle senior brand manager.
"We make sure that any product we bring to market in the Catalyst line is a superior offering," Jackson said at the International Builders' Show 2025 in Las Vegas. "We are really trying to start from a better place than everyone else."
The company has made about a dozen deals since 2017.
"This is a consolidation of a lot of industry leaders that have been out in the market for 25-plus years," Jackson said, pointing to ActiveYards, Alumi-Guard and Barrett Outdoor Living. "We're rolling together what is now the industry's most complete offering of fence solutions. It's vinyl, aluminum, steel, mixed materials and additional options."
In early March, Oldcastle announced the acquisition of Eastern Wholesale's two vinyl fence and rail manufacturing plants to expand its geographical footprint, capabilities and product portfolio. The two facilities produce a variety of vinyl fencing and railing branded as EverStrong Profiles.
The fence industry is complex, with decisions to make about materials, finishes, privacy, security and accessories. Jackson said Oldcastle is "narrowing a universe of options" to the best in terms of aesthetics and performance.
"One of the big successes with Catalyst has been our ability to try and consolidate this down and really walk both the pro or homeowner through that selection process in a much more logical way," Jackson said.
Overall, the goal is to help homeowners "utilize their space more effectively because that is really what a fence does," Jackson said.
