Vista, Calif.-based Pacific Plastics Injection Molding produces injection molds and molded plastic parts for the electronics, biomedical, consumer products and industrial markets.
Diversified Plastics Inc., No. 7 on the 2022 Best Places to Work processors list, acquired Pacific Plastics in 2018. Both operate under an employee stock ownership plan.
"As a result of exceptional dedication to creating quality products for our customers, our employee-owners increased Diversified Plastics Inc.'s and Pacific Plastics Injection Molding's share price by 36 percent in fiscal year 2021. We are so proud of the initiative and creativity our employees bring to the company," Pacific Plastics wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Pacific Plastics added an additional 22,000 square feet to its 24,000-square-foot facility to support increased demand and future growth, part of a three-year growth initiative that also resulted in more jobs. A clean room will be added, and ISO 13485 certification will be obtained, according to a news release on the company's website.
Asked things they love about Pacific Plastics, employees said their "co-workers are awesome," "creative freedom" and the spirit of "work hard, play hard."
Employees can trade accrued time off for pay, and they can also donate PTO days to a fellow team member in need.
