PVC column manufacturer Palmetto Millworks of the Carolinas LLC will invest $5.5 million to relocate and expand its operation at a new site in Columbia, S.C., where it plans to create 47 new jobs.
Founded in 2021, Palmetto makes PVC columns with aluminum cores that it says enhances quality, safety and durability. The company also makes porch arches, gable brackets, trellises and flower boxes.
Palmetto is relocating its operation to an industrial park to add capacity to meet increased demand, according to a news release from the office of Gov. Henry McMaster.
The company offers low-maintenance classic columns made from 5/8th inch thick PVC, tapered colums that can be used over a brick or stone pedestal or as a full-length column; column wraps to upgrade outdated columns and posts; and custom colums.
The expansion is expected to be complete in 2023. Hiring is underway.
