PET food tray maker Clearly Clean Products LLC has bought another facility in Frackville, Pa. — its third in about two years.
The Orwigsburg, Pa.-based company said it will use the 60,000-square-foot building initially as a warehouse and then add distribution. The thermoformer said the site could become another plant eventually.
"The new facility provides more warehouse space and will grow in function as we continue to expand," Millard Wallace, a managing partner, said in a news release.
Clearly Clean already has a plant and distribution center in the same complex. It invested $10 million in 2019 to buy and renovate an 80,000-square-foot building there for manufacturing.
The company's headquarters is in nearby Orwigsburg, where it has four facilities. It also has sites in Naples, Fla., and South Windsor, Conn., where it used to be based.
Legislative bans on expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam packaging, often fueled by consumer pressure, are increasing the demand for alternatives, the company said.
Clearly Clean makes smooth-edged Roll Over-Wrap trays, recyclable modified atmosphere packaging and vacuum-sealed trays. Its products are used for meat, deli items, seafood, poultry and produce.
