Pexco LLC has made its third acquisition of 2024, buying K. Jabat Inc. for an undisclosed price.
KJI is a plastics processor based in Green Brook, N.J. The firm makes custom extrusions including ABS tubing, high density polyethylene profiles, polystyrene cores and custom tubes and profiles in various engineering resins.
In a news release, Pexco CEO Sam Patel said the acquisition "expands Pexco's custom extrusion capacity and materials expertise, while addressing new markets and applications."
"We look forward to integrating [KJI's] capabilities seamlessly into Pexco's operations, further advancing our position as a leader in engineered plastic components," he added.
KJI President and CEO Susan McGill said the Kulkaski family, the firm's owner, "is grateful to have had the privilege of serving the U.S. manufacturing community for the past 51 years. … We look forward to watching our employees and customers grow with the expanded capabilities that Pexco offers."
Pexco officials added the deal expands their firm's custom tubing, rod and profile solutions business. It also builds on Pexco's presence in utilities, agriculture, infrastructure, fence and sanitation markets.
The KJI acquisition is Pexco's 15th since 2018. In August, the firm acquired Precise Aerospace Manufacturing Inc., a plastics processor based in Yorba Linda, Calif.
With estimated sales of $330 million, Pexco comes in at No. 21 in Plastics News' ranking of pipe, profile and tubing producers in North America. The firm employs more than 600.
