A new company launched by a plastics pipe sector veteran is building a plant in Rogersville, Mo.
Carl Douglas Jungers, previously an owner of pipe makers Bore-Flex Industries Inc. and Ameriduct Worldwide Inc., broke ground at the end of September on a 70,000-square-foot plant for the new company, Terra Star LLC.
The plant will manufacture polyethylene pipe for telecommunications and infrastructure projects. Jungers said in a recent telephone interview the facility will employ 50 and house as many as eight extruders once it begins operations.
"We'll be pushing plastic by no later than June 1," he said.
Jungers, who is president of Terra Star, said he and his partners will invest as much as $5 million in the plant, which he expects to process more than 75 million pounds of material per year.
"I'm excited to be back in the market," he said. "We see a tremendous upside for the future."
He chose Rogersville because he and his partners were raised in the area. "We feel very comfortable there. It has the right logistics and culture for where we want to do business," he said.
