Thermoformer Placon Corp. is promoting its chief financial officer to president of the company as the company eyes continued growth.
Daniel R. Gilbert has been with the Madison, Wis.-based company for seven years and succeeds Dan Mohs as president. Mohs remains chairman and CEO.
Gilbert, the company said, "has been instrumental in driving two acquisitions and profitable growth." His 30 years of experience includes work in finance, sales, business development and leadership in manufacturing, technology, banking and consumer products. He is a former officer and aviator for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Placon designs and makes custom and stock plastic packaging for food and medical devices using thermoforming and injection molding. Locations are in Madison; West Springfield, Mass.; Elkhart, Ind.; Plymouth, Minn.; and Wilson, N.C.
Placon is ranked No. 18 in the most recent Plastics News listing of themoformers in North America with annual sales of $185 million.
