Plastics association fills out senior leadership team

Washington — The Plastics Industry Association is filling out its executive team, announcing three new hires April 9 to positions in industry relations, government affairs and communications.

The Washington-based association said it hired former Milacron Holdings Corp. executive Glenn Anderson as vice president of industry relations and member engagement, Matt Seaholm as vice president of government affairs and Brendan Thomas as vice president of advocacy and voice.

"We are pleased to announce the hiring of these executives as they will further strengthen our operations across various functions and provide support to our members and build on the association's continued growth," President and CEO Tony Radoszewski said.

Anderson will focus on leading the development and growth of the association's strategic plan, as well as overseeing the group's councils and its teams on sustainability, membership and events, the group said.

Anderson is well known to the association. He was chairman of the NPE2018 trade show, which generates sizable revenue for the association, led its Equipment Council and served on its board of directors. He was most recently senior vice president of sales, marketing and product management at Milacron, one of the largest U.S.-based plastics machinery makers.

Seaholm comes to the government affairs job after heading the American Recyclable Plastic Bag Alliance, a self-funded unit of the association, and has had a career in public affairs and politics.

Thomas comes to the group after serving as a communications director for members of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2014 and working as a journalist before that, the association said. In that job, he will oversee communications and marketing and work closely with government affairs, the group said.

The hires come after Radoszewski, who was hired in July, shook up previous executive ranks in January, when he removed several former top managers, including Patty Long, the chief operating officer; Mia Freis Quinn, vice president of communications; and Kendra Martin, who had been vice president of industry affairs.

Long had also been interim president and CEO of the group from December 2018, when its longtime CEO Bill Carteaux died of leukemia, until Radoszewski's arrival. Anderson started April 6 and Seaholm and Thomas begin April 15.
