Market veteran Esteban Sagel, principal of Chemical & Polymer Market Consultant (ChemPMC) in Houston, covered the polyethylene and polypropylene resin markets markets at the forum.
"We are more concerned about plastics in the environment than any other environmental issue we test," said Suzanne Shelton, CEO of the Shelton Group Inc., in a presentation at the forum. "This is a very real issue and people are freaked out about it."
Resin supply chain issues have been an “extreme challenge” and may take several months to improve, according to Howard Rappaport of StoneX Group Inc.
MMI accepts Processor of the Year award
The winner was named March 23 at the Plastics News Executive Forum.
The top 22 plastics companies have been named for 2022, and Plastic Components Inc. and Conventus Polymers have taken the top spots in the processors and suppliers categories, respectively. The full list was announced March 23 at Plastics News' Executive Forum awards ceremony in Naples.
