For the past six years, the Plastics News Women Breaking the Mold special report has highlighted more than 120 movers and shakers in the plastics industry — an industry that is predominantly male-dominated.
Each year we receive dozens of nominations for ambitious, hardworking professionals — from company founders and CEOs to plant managers and engineers.
They share how they got into the industry. For some, it's all in the family. Many women profiled throughout the years run their second- or third-generation family business. For others, plastics and manufacturing have always been of interest since they were young. And for others, plastics weren't the original plan but became a passion.
They have shared their challenges and struggles, and they have shared their breakthroughs and accomplishments. Each of the women we profile has a different story of how they got to where they are.
We are looking for more stories to share and women to celebrate for the Aug. 3 issue of Plastics News.
To apply — or to nominate someone you know — go to www.plasticsnews.com/wbmsurvey and fill out the survey. The deadline to submit a nomination is July 6.
