Independence, Mo.-based PolySource and Germantown, Wis.-based Plastic Components Inc. have taken the top spots for Plastics News' Best Places to Work list in the suppliers and processors categories, respectively. The awards were presented March 17 at the PN Executive Forum virtual edition.
Resin distributor PolySource previously ranked No. 1 in both 2017 and 2019.
PolySource pays 100 percent of premiums for medical, dental and vision coverage to employees and their dependents, a benefit especially helpful when health care costs continue to rise. The company also funds a health reimbursement arrangement for out-of-pocket expenses. After one year of employment, employees can take advantage of unlimited sick and vacation days.
PolySource said it aims to establish a culture "that truly has employees engaging in the company and has the company engaging in the lives of employees."
Custom injection molder PCI has made the Best Places to Work list every year since 2014.
PCI has been able to maintain its health insurance without any changes, including premiums. The company gives two paid days per year toward community service efforts and organizes service events. Hourly employees were allowed to sell back vacation time last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company said the honor "beats any other recognition as it comes from the dedicated staff that PCI owes its success to."
All 16 companies will be profiled in the March 29 issue of PN. The entire Best Places to Work list in order, by category:
