PPC Flexible Packaging LLC is expanding, again, with a deal for a Texas-based company.
Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based PPC acquired Popular Ink LLC, a McKinney, Texas, printer and converter of flexible films, bags and pouches.
This is PPC's fifth acquisition since 2017.
"PPC's combination with Popular brings our enterprise deep experience in high growth markets and enhanced access for our customers to unique and differentiated product offerings," PPC CEO Kevin Keneally said in a news release.
His company now has seven manufacturing sites and more than 900 employees.
Other locations are in Buffalo Grove; Mission, Kan.; Rome, Ga.; Payson, Utah; Pewaukee Wis.; and Colombia.
Past PPC deals were for both Fisher Container and Packaging Products in 2017, Temkin International in 2018 and HFM Packaging in 2019, the company said.
Dru Reiss founded Popular Ink in 2007 and will join PPC.
The company is known for its short-run, high-service specialty packaging for health and beauty and nutraceutical markets, PPC said.
Products included printed laminated roll stock, gel and stick packs, stand up pouches, labels and sleeves, the company said.
