A Massachusetts blow molder with a long history of social service has a new owner.
Precision Concepts International LLC acquired Meredith-Springfield Associates Inc., a Ludlow, Mass.-based designer and blow molder of PET and high density polyethylene bottles and containers.
Precision Concepts, formerly known as IntraPac International Corp., is buying Meredith-Springfield from owner Mel O'Leary.
"As I began planning for the next phase of my career, I knew it was important to find a partner who shared Meredith-Springfield Associates' values and could continue the brand I've worked to build," O'Leary said in a statement. "Precision Concepts' commitment to customer service and quality perfectly aligns with Meredith's core values."
O'Leary founded Meredith-Springfield in January 1983, calling the initial business a "typical, shoestring, entrepreneurial start-up" in his LinkedIn profile.
Precision Concepts CEO Ray Grupinski, in a statement, calls Meredith-Springfield "one of the Northeast's premier providers of HDPE and PET containers."
"This acquisition extends our footprint in the Northeast and continues our strategy of partnering with world-class, founder-led businesses," he said.
Precision Concepts, based in Huntersville, N.C., changed its name from IntraPac following the 2021 purchase of Precision Concepts Costa Rica. The company calls itself a maker of rigid packaging including sticks, jars, vials, closures, spouts, bottles and tubes for the food and beverage, personal care and nutraceutical industries.
