Profine GmbH, a producer of PVC window and door profiles, purchased the extrusion and finished products assets of Aperture Group, a manufacturer of window and door systems based in the United Kingdom, from the administrators of Aperture Trading Ltd. for an undisclosed sum.
The deal gives Profine a dedicated manufacturing facility for its Kömmerling brand of products in Huthwaite, England. That's where Aperture Group, which was previously called Synseal Group, had its headquarters and manufactured brands including Legend, Synerjy, Evolve, Calibre Doors, Norvik New Build and WarmCore.
The manufacturing facility, which will be called Profine UK Extrusions Ltd., has more than 20 extrusion lines, a mixing plant, and several foiling and injection molding systems, according to a news release about the purchase.
Profine UK expects to add jobs and bring the workforce to more than 100 employees.
"This is wonderful news for all parties concerned and provides us with an integrated mixing, extrusion and lamination facility in the U.K.," Gareth Jones, managing director of Profine UK, said in the release. "It's been something we've been looking at for several years and now we can continue to build market share for the Kömmerling brand and support it with others such as WarmCore and Evolve, which will also benefit from investment."
The Kömmerling brand of products includes windows, doors and shutter systems of unplasticized PVC (PVC-U). Evolve brand products also are PVC-U while the WarmCore brand is aluminum.
The newly acquired brands and products are being considered for export markets.
'With this acquisition, we are strengthening our strong international market position and continuing our success story in the U.K. market," Peter Mrosik, CEO and Profine Group owner, said in the release.
