Wauconda, Ill.-based Progressive Components has acquired the Versa-Slide product line from Omni Mold Systems of Ellington, Conn., which is now closed.
Founded in 1994, Omni developed Versa-Slide to complement standard mold bases, but the product line is versatile for custom designs. Omni billed the products as the most widely accepted for enabling standardization of side-action molds.
Omni discontinued operations, however, after Progressive Components bought the Versa-Slide product line for an undisclosed sum.
The inventory has been moved to Progressive Components headquarters but customers can continue to access Omni's website, phone number and email addresses while the product line becomes fully integrated into the Progressive catalog and online offering.
Founded in 1987, Progressive Components offers components and software to the production tooling industry. The company's products include alignment locks, plate sequencing devices, a range of pins, sleeves and bushings for greaseless molding, and software for Bluetooth-enabled real-time mold monitoring.
"This addition of the Omni Versa-Slide system continues our dedication to developing standards to make mold design, mold building, and mold maintenance more efficient and predictable," Progressive Components President Glenn Starkey said in a news release.
