Sugarcreek, Ohio-based ProVia LLC bought the assets of Youngstown, Ohio-based Premier Profile Lamination Inc. (PPL), a laminator of PVC components for the door and window industry, to streamline operations and product development.
The two companies have worked together for many years to support ProVia's patio door and window product lines, according to a news release about the deal, which goes into effect June 30.
The acquisition continues a tradition of quality and it lines up with a ProVia plan to offer lamination services at a facility it purchased about 85 miles away in New Philadelphia, Ohio, in 2021, according to company officials.
"The PPL team has done a remarkable job refining the profile lamination process over the years. We are excited to vertically integrate these production capabilities into ProVia's advanced manufacturing processes," ProVia President and CEO Brian Miller said. "We look forward to continuing to deliver the highest level of performance while enhancing the lamination process for the benefit of our customers."
ProVia will continue operating PPL's manufacturing facility in Youngstown, until at least the end of 2023. The company then will relocate PPL to New Philadelphia, where it is investing in a building renovation.
The goal is to complete the transition by the second quarter of 2024. The operation is expected to create about 20 jobs.
Founded in 1977 when brothers Bill and Andrew Mullet bought the assets of a small aluminum window and door fabricator, ProVia (formerly Precision Entry) added steel entry doors in 1978 and fiberglass entry doors in 1992.
The company also manufactures storm doors, patio doors, windows, vinyl siding, manufactured stone and metal roofing.
With estimated extrusion sales of $65 million, ProVia is the 61st largest pipe, profile and tubing producer in North America, according to Plastics News' latest ranking. Those numbers inlcude ProVia's vinyl siding business, which is based in Booneville, Miss.
