Processing Technologies International LLC has debuted a die splitting cart named uCAMS — the Universal Cleaning Assembly and Maintenance System.
In a news release, officials with PTi in Aurora, Ill., said that extrusion die cleaning and maintenance are needed for high-quality sheet production, so finding ways to expedite the process, while improving efficiency and safety, means better quality sheet with less downtime.
They added that PTi engineered and designed uCAMS with a focus on flexibility, ease, and operator safety regarding maintenance and upkeep of an extrusion die. uCAMS is foundational for any offline die maintenance program and is available in three configurations for the cleaning, inspection or repairs of single, dual or triple-manifold dies.
The cart's heavy-duty frame construction on casters gives mobility and accessibility, so that maintenance can be done in an environment and at a height that's adequate and safe for the operator, officials said.
PTi is a manufacturer of high-performance sheet extrusion machinery. It serves end markets including packaging, construction, automotive and appliances.
PTi is exhibiting at the 2021 SPE Thermoforming Conference, Sept. 20-22 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
