Polytek Development Corp., which makes polyurethane systems for casting and mold making, will invest around $2.1 million in a new plant and facilities in Comstock Township, Mich., a suburb of Kalamazoo.
The investment is being helped with a $112,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and Southwest Michigan First. About 28 jobs will be added at the site.
Polytek , based in Easton, Pa., is a platform company owned by Arsenal Capital Partners. It will use the new plant to consolidate work from several other locations, including a competing site in Indiana.
Polytek has several locations from which it could chose to merge work into Michigan following a concerted programme of purchases. The company includes previous acquisitions, including BCC Products, purchased in October; Stone Coat Countertops, an epoxy formulator added in August; and ProMarine Supplies, also an epoxy formulator acquired early this year.
Before Arsenal bought Polytek, Polytek expanded when its previous owner bought Alumilite in 2018.
