Tony Radoszewski, former CEO of the Plastics Industry Association, has joined Lane Enterprises Inc., a producer of both corrugated steel and plastics pipe, as senior vice president of marketing and communications.
At Camp Hill, Pa.-based Lane, Radoszewski will lead efforts to broaden market opportunities for the company's products in civil infrastructure applications.
Radoszewski is a veteran of the pipe industry, having served 14 years as president of the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) in Irving, Texas. He has nearly 40-year experience in the plastics resin and pipe industries.
"Tony has extensive knowledge of the pipe industry as well as strong leadership abilities that will help take our company to the next level," Lane CEO Patrick X. Collings said in a news release.
"The country's failing water infrastructure is in desperate need of repair, and Lane's vast product line has been proven to provide long-term, safe and cost-effective solutions. Tony, with his excellent marketing, communications and creative skills, will enable our company to carry that beneficial message forward."
Radoszewski was fired from the Plastics Industry Association in March 2022 because he didn't relocate to the group's headquarters in Washington, D.C., from Texas during the pandemic.
Radoszewski earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Mary's University in San Antonio then began his career at Phillips 66 Co./Phillips Driscopipe, which is now part of the Performance Pipe Division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.
After 15 years with Phillips, Radoszewski became the director of marketing and business development for Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. He then was named president of Wentworth Group International, a business-to-business marketing firm specializing in market and product development for industrial and manufacturing clients.
In 2006, Radoszewski was recruited to become president of PPI, which says it is the largest plastic pipe trade association in North America.
Radoszewski held the post until 2019, when he was named president and CEO of the Plastics Industry Association, which supports the plastics supply chain in the United States.
However, Radoszewski never made the move to Washington, and a legal battle ensued.
Radoszewski argued that the COVID-19 pandemic complicated his relocation and that his contract did not specifically require moving to the Washington area.
The association claimed Radoszewski's absence at the headquarters caused staff retention and morale problems as well as loss of faith in him by board members.
A judge eventually ruled that Radoszewski's contract did not require him to relocate but the association was still within its legal rights when it fired him.
Radoszewski left following a 2½-year tenure marked by significant staff turnover and difficult decisions related to canceling the 2021 NPE trade show.
During this time, the association also implemented its first ever, three-year strategic plan, which led to initiatives focused on advocacy, communications, member engagement, education and sustainability.
Radoszewski is ready to get back in the pipe industry.
"I am grateful for this opportunity to play a role in advancing this nearly 100-year-old company," Radoszewski said.
"Lane's core beliefs and adherence to the highest standards for clients, partners and employees is keenly instrumental to its current and future success. I'm excited to be a part of this team," he said.
