Revolution Sustainable Solutions LLC says the acquisition of Norflex Inc. of Hudson, Wis., will increase the combined companies' sustainability capabilities.
Revolution said the deal includes Norflex's Agriseal silage wrap business, which "is renowned for its durability and efficiency, achieving maximum performance while using less overall material."
This, the company said, "aligns seamlessly with Revolution's mission to drive sustainability in the agriculture sector."
Little Rock, Ark.-based Revolution collects and recycles agricultural films. That resin is then used to make products such as can liners, carryout bags and stretch film.
"Integrating Norflex's Agriseal silage wrap enhances our ability to offer comprehensive, sustainable solutions to the agricultural community," Revolution President Scott Coleman said in a statement. "This acquisition allows us to further our commitment of helping farmers and agricultural businesses create less waste and increase efficiency."
Revolution said the acquisition will allow for the production "of high quality, more sustainable stretch films catering to a wide range of industrial applications.
"Revolution's innovative approach to incorporating certified post-consumer recycled content into its products will be further enhanced by Norflex's market reach and technological capabilities, such as requiring less material in their products to reduce overall film use," Revolution said.
On its website Norflex describes itself as "a custom film manufacturer that specializes in high-quality stretch, shrink, custom additives, and converter-grade films used for industrial packaging and agricultural applications."
The company was founded by Arne Anderson in 1992, according to the website.
The deal for Norflex comes several months after Revolution acquired PolyAg Recycling of Bashaw, Alberta. PolyAg began recycling agricultural film in 2019 and is located 85 miles south of Edmonton and 150 miles north of Calgary.
