Rinco Ultrasonics Inc., a manufacturer of ultrasonic welding equipment, has launched a new series of ultrasonic welding machines.
Rinco has been focused on user friendliness of its machines, making sure they are accessible and easy to use, with graphical information to give insight into what's going on in the machine.
The interface will be on both new generations of machines and is a 10-inch color touchscreen monitor that offers more flexibility, access and speed. There is programmable password protection and digital security.
"If you go to our competitors and they've got one series vs. another, they're completely different interfaces," said Bill Aurand, national sales manager at Rinco. "I think Rinco is the only company now to offer a common interface and menu structure across pneumatic and servo."
The new election motion servo-driven machine will be available in 20 kilohertz and 35 kHz frequencies. The system is updated to be faster and more efficient in productivity to meet more demands. Rinco redesigned the microprocessor operating system to increase screen response time and doesn't require a licensing agreement.
The new standard series line will be available in 20kHz, 35kHz and 70 kHz and is targeted for the automotive, appliance, medical, electronics and packaging industries. The updated pneumatics include new safety features and ability to track all system errors and adjustments.
"This machine contains the ability to store multiple recipes so you can do quick change tooling and be up and running the next project very easily," said Aurand. "Everybody does this with everybody's welder, but it's not as easy to go from one setup to the next with a competitor's machine."
Both new generations are ISO class six clean room compatible and the relatively new ISO certification of ISO 13485, which specifically deals with equipment to manufacture medical devices.
"I believe we are the only ultrasonic company with that certification," said Aurand. "That's a big deal for us because ultrasonics is heavily used in medical."
