Woodbridge, Ontario — The Schad Foundation will hold a memorial service for Plastics Hall of Fame member Robert Schad on Sept. 12 in Woodbridge.
Schad, the founder of Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., died July 11 in Toronto. He was 95.
During his lifetime, Schad donated $200 million to various initiatives. He founded the Schad Foundation, which supported the creation of nearly 75 percent of Canada's protected areas and established Earth Rangers, the world's largest youth conservation group.
The foundation is asking for people who plan to attend the memorial service to RSVP in advance. The event will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the Earth Rangers Centre in Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Earth Rangers are encouraged.
