Latta, S.C. — Rotational molder Diversified Plastics Inc. has moved a Georgia factory into a new, larger facility to accommodate future growth.
The site in Social Circle is about 50 miles from its previous home in Union Point and offers 50,000 square feet over two buildings on a 17-acre plot.
"This large-scale facility will give us the needed capacity to produce our line of front-end load dumpsters, material handling carts and our new line of dock floats for the marine industry," President Tommy Wallace said in a news release. "The new location will also help us to handle the large demand for custom rotational molding for products."
DPI was No. 37 in Plastics News' most recent ranking of rotomolders in North America, with sales of $14.7 million. It has two locations, the new Social Circle facility and its headquarters plant in Latta.
The company has operated in Georgia since 2016 when it opened its plant in Union Point. In 2017, it acquired the equipment and operations of Atlanta Rotomolding Inc. in Decatur. At that point, it occupied a 35,000-square-foot plant in Union Point but planned to occupy another 15,000-square-foot building.
The new site in Social Circle will provide a more efficient production area, the company said.
