Rotomolder Tank Holding makes two acquisitions

The largest North American rotational molder keeps getting even larger.

Tank Holding Corp. announced Feb. 27 that it has made two more acquisitions, both of them in Canada. Tank Holding bought a plant with two rotomolding machines in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from Acrylon Plastics Inc. in January. More recently, the company picked up a chemical mixing system called the Handler from Polywest Ltd. of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Saskatoon factory will allow Tank Holding to better serve customers in that region of Canada.

The Handler is designed to facilitate the mixing and dispensing of agricultural chemicals into different types of tank equipment. It comes in 20 different models and sizes, ranging from 15 to 230 gallons.

These deals mark the sixth and seventh acquisitions by Tank Holding during the past 15 months. Tank Holding, based in Lincoln, Neb., is owned by private equity firm Olympus Partners. The company's brands include Norwesco, Snyder Industries, Chemtainer, Bonar Plastics, Bushman and Stratis Plastics.

Tank Holding employs about 750 people and runs 24 factory locations throughout North America.

"Both of these acquisitions continue to align with our strategic growth plans, but more importantly though, they add value to our existing customer base," said Tank Holding CEO Greg Wade. "The exciting Handler product line will now be available through our entire distribution network. The Saskatoon plant location will enable us to expand our footprint for select products deemed strategic in this geographic area."
