In Las Vegas during the International Builders' Show, Royal Building Products celebrated 50 years as a manufacturer of exterior building products and launched new products and colors.
The show ran Jan. 21-23.
Royal Building Products claims it is the largest extruder of cellular foam PVC components in North America. Royal is a unit of Westlake Chemical Corp. Westlake is No. 4 in Plastics News' most recent ranking of pipe, profile and tubing producers in North America.
"With 50 years of innovation under our belts, we truly understand the unique challenges of our customers, including contractors, architects and builders," Steve Booz, vice president of marketing at Royal, said.
Vic De Zen founded Royal Plastics in Toronto in 1970.
At the show, Royal launched Atlas Stone, with composite panels for home exteriors. SandGrit technology replicates the texture of real stone, and the panels are finished with a fade-resistant Kynar coating.
Also new from Royal: several new colors in the Cedar Renditions line and vinyl shake. Royal launched Cedar Renditions to the U.S. market in 2019. For 2020, the company rolled out two new colors: gray oak and Spanish moss.
Royal also introduced new colors for its vinyl siding under the brands Haven Insulated Siding, Estate, Portsmouth Shake & Shingles, CraneBoard Solid Core Siding and Market Square. The company has added six colors to the Portsmouth line: Sedona shadow, mountain ash, rustic gray, cottonwood, aged pewter and stonehedge.
Also at the show, Royal introduced a tapered version of its PVC column wraps that feature a new clamshell design with three preassembled sides that surround the existing post for quick installation and a seamless appearance.
