Naperville, Ill. — Closure liner manufacturer Selig Group is expanding its capabilities through the purchase of a company that supplies container and packaging venting solutions.
Naperville-based Selig announced Jan. 5 that it has purchased Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Performance Systematix Inc. Terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1984, PSI claims to be the leading global supplier of container and packaging venting solutions. This transaction is Selig's third acquisition since it was purchased by Chicago-based CC Industries Inc. in 2015.
PSI President Glenn Dunn said in a news release that Selig is an ideal partner.
"This is a highly strategic combination which expands both companies' product lines, enabling us to provide a more comprehensive solutions offering for customers globally," Dunn said.
Steve Cassidy, president and CEO of Selig, added: "PSI's culture of innovation, service and quality are well-aligned with Selig and will enable us to serve customers better as a combined organization with expanded capabilities and short, highly responsive product development cycles."
PSI will operate as a subsidiary of Selig from its Grand Rapids facility.
Selig uses plastics, foils and paper, in various combinations, to create closure liners that are typically induction-sealed to not only protect the product, but also provide tamper evidence, brand identification and counterfeit deterrence.
