Orlando, Fla. — Sepro Group has 19 robots on display throughout NPE2024 and is highlighting its long-term partnership with injection molding press maker Milacron.
Six of the Sepro robots are within the company's booth, and 13 are operating at other injection molding machinery exhibits.
At its booth, Sepro (W143) is demonstrating the 7X-55 robot, which serves an injection molding machine with a capacity of up to 2,500 tons. It is handling four different parts and demonstrating multiple maneuvers.
"We're trying to show ... we have a robot for the large-tonnage injection molding machine range," said Jim Healy, vice president of sales and marketing for Sepro. "What we're doing is we're picking one part at a time, going through a quick tool change, and we're doing various manipulations and rotations."
Sepro also has a cell with its S5-25 Speed, which is built for a faster acceleration and shorter cycle time, and the 5X-25, a five-axis servo that is designed for complex and precise parts.
"If the customer needs speed for their operation, they have this robot. But if they need additional manipulations, the 5X-25 is the better robot," Healy said. "We're trying to compare the two in that cell."
Another machine at the Sepro booth is paired with a Milacron 125-ton Q-series injection press. This is Sepro's first time having a molding machine in operation at its own booth.
In a work cell, Sepro is showing various part handling techniques, laser printing, labeling, 2D vision and 3D vision using the Milacron machine.
