Robot supplier Sepro America is showing a simulated work cell at Plastec West in Anaheim, Calif., showing the potential for more collaboration between humans and robots.
The cell has a Sepro Success 11 beam robot and a UR5e collaborative robot from Universal Robots. The three-axis beam robot operates in a protective enclosure, where it removes a part — in this simulation a USB stick — from a simulated mold.
The robot then traverses to a small opening outside the protected area, where the cobot turns and places the stick in a magazine where it can be picked by visitors to the Sepro America booth.
Also at Plastec West, a stand-alone display features a beam mounted sprue picker robot, the S5 Picker.
Sepro America is based in Warrendale, Pa.
