Sigma Stretch Film is purchasing two new cast film production lines for locations in Belleville, Ontario, and Tulsa, Okla.
The lines from SML Maschinengesellschaft of Redlham, Austria, are scheduled to be delivered in 2023 and will significantly increase capacity at each location, Sigma said.
The new line in Ontario will be installed in a new wing at the facility, and the equipment in Tulsa will replace an existing line, the company said.
"Both lines will produce the latest generation, 9-layer films and have been configured for maximum flexibility allowing rapid product changes to meet local demands," the company said.
Purchase of these two new lines follows similar purchases from SML for lines at Sigma's Riverside, Calif., and Shelbyville, Tenn., locations.
Sigma Stretch Film calls itself the world largest maker of polyethylene stretch films and is a unit of Sigma Plastics Group of Pompano Beach, Fla. Sigma creates more than 2 billion pounds of products each year through a network of 42 manufacturing sites.
