Neumann & Bennetts Inc., a 66-year-old Klamath Falls Ore., company known for making rotationally molded duck decoys, has a new owner.
Outdoor product manufacturer SmartTechProducts, a subsidiary of VonderBurg Ventures Inc., bought Neumann & Bennetts and plans to combine operations into SmartTechProducts' own 50,000 square foot location in Klamath Falls.
"The acquisition made sense," Carlos Neumann, president of Neumann & Bennetts said in a recent news release. "In today's uncertain times, synergy of combining companies with the same goals of making products in America while at the same time combining forces is a winning decision."
Neumann & Bennetts was founded in 1954 by Carlos Neumann's father, Warren. The firm is known for its Plasti-Duk brand of rotomolded duck decoys, as well as bumper trainers, which mimic the size and weight of birds and are used to train hunting dogs.
Neumann & Bennetts tied for No. 85 in the most recent Plastics News ranking of North American rotational molders, with estimated rotomolding sales of $4.5 million, and estimated total corporate sales of $11 million.
SmartTechProducts' Klamath Falls factory "can accommodate large quantities of plastic products to be produced," according to the company's news release.
"SmartTechProducts will bring N&B product lines to our online presence while reducing overhead by operating both profit centers under one roof," Don VonderBurg, CEO of SmartTechProducts, added.
SmartTechProducts did not immediately respond to inquiries by Plastics News including the terms of the acquisition.
