Spartech Plastics LLC announced the permanent closure of its Paulding, Ohio, manufacturing facility on Dec. 13.
The facility has 102 full-time employees that will be either laid off or transferred. The staff was notified of the factory's closure on Dec 13.
Layoffs will begin on. Feb. 11 and be completed on or before May 31, according to a worker adjustment and retraining notification (WARN) filing. The facility has no union.
In February 2024, Maryland Heights, Mo.-based Spartech announced plans to invest $2 million at its plant in Crawfordsville, Ind. The investment was creating 10 new jobs in addition to the company's 87 full-time employees.
Spartech is ranked No. 20 in Plastics News' ranking of North American film and sheet makers with an estimated $500 million in sales. New York-based private equity firm The Jordan Co. LP of New York owns a majority of Spartech.
