The SPE Foundation and the Plastics Hall of Fame are partnering to launch the Plastics Hall of Fame Scholarship. This scholarship will support four students pursuing careers in the plastics industry.
The scholarship will award $5,000 to each recipient to recognize their academic excellence.
"Plastics Hall of Fame members are pioneering researchers, scholars, innovators and leaders whose contributions have transformed the way we live," said Maureen Steinwall, president of the Plastics Hall of Fame. "As the industry evolves, it is crucial to recognize these trailblazers and inspire the next generation to build upon their legacy. This scholarship is an investment in future talent who will continue to drive innovation and address global challenges related to plastics."
Full-time undergraduates, technical or graduate students pursing coursework that supports a career in plastics or polymers. Fields of study include business, environmental studies, history, political science, mold making, and plastic technology.
Applicants must maintain a strong academic standing, have commitment to solving current and future challenges in the plastic industry and endorse the mission and vision of the Plastics Hall of Fame.
"Annual and endowed scholarship funds are vital for building our plastics workforce," said Eve Vitale, chief executive of the SPE Foundation. "The Plastics Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have shaped our world through their life's work. We are excited to offer these scholarships to students who are committed to advancing the field and making a meaningful impact with the hope that one day they may be worthy of the distinction as a Plastics Hall of Fame member."
