A Summit, Miss., film maker is expanding production capacity through the installation of a Windmöller & Hölscher blown film extrusion line.
Summit Films said the addition of a five-layer Optimex II line is of strategic importance for the company.
"This is a pivotal moment for our business as we invest in tools and technologies that will allow us to continue delivering on our unwavering promise of unparalleled service to our customers. That is the core of who we are," Summit Films CEO Jack Shields said in a statement.
The new line, he said, "will provide the adaptability needed to meet the evolving demands of our customers and expand into the growing value-added films markets."
Summit Films previously was known as Summit Plastics before a rebranding by owner LongueView Capital in October 2024.
The private equity firm, at that time, created Innotex Packaging Solutions by uniting Summit Plastics, ClearView Packaging and Fredman Packaging under one umbrella.
"This brand unification represents a key milestone in our strategy to build a leading flexible packaging platform that can provide unparalleled service and quality in a fast-changing marketplace," said Ryan Nagim, managing partner of New Orleans-based LongueVue, in a statement at the time.
Fredman's Milwaukee and ClearView Packaging's Albany, N.Y., converting locations also united under the Clearview name.
"This strategic rebranding brings together the complementary capabilities of these three companies to form a vertically integrated flexible packaging leader with expertise in blown film production, flexographic printing, adhesive laminations, and converting," LongueVue previously said.
The new machine for Summit Films, meanwhile, is being seen by Innotex as a way to "optimize production and reduce costs associated with resin and labor — critical factors in today's dynamic manufacturing environment," the company said.
"The technology on this line positions us to navigate industry challenges with greater efficiency and precision," Shields said.
The new line is expected to be running his quarter.
