Cabinet Health, a company that makes drugs and refillable glass bottles with the aim of eliminating single-use plastics from medicine and whose founders are based in New York City's Williamsburg neighborhood has raised a $17 million funding round.
The round, announced Dec. 15, is a mix of equity and debt and will go toward getting Cabinet’s products into retailers and pharmacies around the country and scaling the business’s prescription manufacturing capabilities, said Russell Gong, Cabinet’s co-founder and president.
Customers can go to Cabinet’s website and purchase generic prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements that come in refillable glass bottles with child-resistant caps and smart labels, eliminating their need to go to the pharmacy and purchase typical plastic bottles of medicine. Customers can also purchase Cabinet products from Amazon and Grove Collaborative.
